Tomorrow I get to see the former president, Bill Clinton, in person. I am so excited! I expect to see a dynamic speaker who really makes all of us feel informed.
Just a few minutes ago, I checked my email and received one from Hillary Clinton's campaign. It asked that I provide a question for Ms. Clinton's town hall meeting. Below is my message:
Dear Hillary,
What can we do for the students out there who are overwhelmed by crippling debt? These students include more than just those who are receiving their undergraduate degrees. In fact, it seems that that higher level of education that we obtain, the higher our level of debt. Considering that our economy is changing, and evolving into a more service-style market, what will you do to help those of us who cannot get out of this student loan debt?
Sincerely,
Christine

Dear Registered Voter,
As one who obtained both an undergraduate and law degree, I have a unique appreciation of your situation. As a matter of fact, I didn't pass the D.C. bar, so I likewise understand how hard that can be.
I fully intend to relieve the suffering of the middle class. The key to progress is education, so I applaud you for your efforts. If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to submit your question so that I may address it during the national townhall meeting. I don't believe that my competitor has any substantive plans for addressing this issue, so I would relish the opportunity to speak on it.
More directly, I would renew interest in a prior bill before Congress that would help students have much more managable debt, including decreasing interest rates and increasing the amount that could be borrowed under federal loans.
Lastly, I commend you for your accomplishments. You should be so proud. I trust that you enjoyed seeing my husband speak, and I ask for your support this Tuesday. God bless you!
